Why I create handmade clothing

I love creating pieces that allow people to express their personality while celebrating the beauty of slow, handmade craftsmanship.

For me, crochet is not just about the finished item—it is about the journey of creating something stitch by stitch. The rhythm of making, the colours chosen and the care placed into every piece are all part of what makes handmade crochet so special.

Inspired by research, created with kindness

My approach to crochet has been shaped by years of teaching and my Calm With Yarn research, exploring how people experience crochet in relation to relaxation, focus, creativity and emotional wellbeing.

The research combined responses from more than 800 crocheters alongside reflections from beginner learners, helping me better understand what people value about crochet and how meaningful creative activities can become part of everyday life.

While everyone's experience is unique and my products are not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any medical condition, the insights from this research continue to influence the way I design, teach and create at Rainbow Dandelion Crochet.
